From the Gite you can walk or cycle for miles in any direction along deserted lanes and tracks.

WALK along the famous pilgrimage walk ‘St Jacques de Compostela’ that runs close by.

One excellent walk is along the tow path cut into the cliff rock and runs 5 kms between St Cirq and Bouzies. This walk includes Le Chemin de Halage. Bouzies is the main pleasure boat port on the Lot. Here is another fortified cave - Chateau des Anglais

Nearest beach is at the campsite at St Cirq Lapopie, where there is a riverside beach with supervised swimming. Adjacent to the bridge between Tour-de-Faure and St Cirq-LaPopie.

CANOEING/KAYAKING on the River Lot and River Cele. There are three outdoor/watersports centres within 15minutes drive of Orniac.

FISHING- the river Lot is renowned for its fishing potential, especially for carp and black bass. A fishing licence is required but these are available and cater for the holiday angler. “La Carte Vacances” allows for fifteen days of fishing; between June and November. Junior licences are also available.
