Orniac-Cabrerets, Gite and Holiday Accommodation, LOT department, Midi-Pyrenees

If you would like a holiday where you can relax and enjoy a longer stay then arrange a weekly booking in our nineteenth century Gite. With each weekly rental there is the possibility of an additional double bedroom in the Pigeonnier.

However, if you would like to discover the atmosphere, history and legacy of the times past in the Quercy, staying a night or a few days in different places then consider booking bed and breakfast facilities, in our authentic seventeenth century house and pigeonnier.

L'Epicerie GITE

The Gite has an open plan area with original log burner to sit and relax and watch the satellite TV, DVD, or listen to CDs. Wireless internet connection is available.

The Gite has a fully equipped open-plan fitted country kitchen, electric cooker, gas hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and great storage and worktop space. The kitchen door opens onto the quiet village square.

The Gite can sleep 4-5 people comfortably over two bedrooms. The Master bedroom on the first floor is a light and airy room with double aspect views, overlooking the walled garden and the farmland and fruit trees. It has a wooden floor, stone fireplace and rustic stone walls.

Next to the Master bedroom is a newly designed bathroom with a large walk-in shower.

The Mansard bedroom in the attic has traditional beams, stone walls, soft lighting and beautiful views. In this bedroom there is a sleigh bed and a double bed.

A welcome basket is provided for all our guests consisting of local wine, tea, coffee, water and fruit drinks, bread, butter local preserves and milk.

Good quality linen and towels are provided for our guests but not swimming towels.

The Gite’s private vine covered seated terrace has proven to be a favourite with our guests for early morning breakfast, for sunbathing and reading during the day. This is a lovely quiet place for alfresco dining and relaxing in the evening. The terrace overlooks the walled garden and the wild flowers in the champ opposite, and is an excellent place to watch rural and village life, and observe the clear night sky.

The above ground 8.5m x 5m pool is situated in an enclosed walled garden setting, absolutely private with established trees and shrubs. The pool is ideal for cooling off after an afternoon sunbathing or sightseeing. There are plenty of places in the grounds to sit and relax, read, sunbathe or watch and listen to a wonderful array of birds.

Guests have access to four bicycles – two female, one male and one male teenager.

BED AND BREAKFAST

One, two or three night pre-booked Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available in the Maison du Maitre or in the Gite, where possible.

The Maison du Maitre offers a luxury experience with lots of space, original stone walls, traditional beams, huge open fireplaces and log burners. Grand stone stairs lead to the Bolet which takes you to the first floor open plan country kitchen and lounge. The lounge has original Quercy furnishings and a medieval fireplace with a log burner.

JARDIN ROOM (for Bed and Breakfast guests).

The Jardin Room is the ground floor of the Maison du Maitre. It has stone walls and beamed ceilings and a huge open engraved stone fireplace, working bread oven and a log burner. This guest area is self-contained, consisting of a double bed sleeping area, with the opportunity to utilise a second sofa bed. There are en-suite shower and toilet facilities. The area contains a huge lounge area with private access to the garden; separate patio area and pool.

THE PIGEONNIER

The pigeonnier can be either booked for separate Bed and Breakfast or as additional sleeping facilities for the Gite.
The Pigeonnier can sleep up to 3 people in a large double bedroom with both a double and single bed. Stone steps lead to the bedroom. The bedroom has a timber breakfast balcony overlooking the garden and pool. The balcony also overlooks the Sagne valley; it offers not only spectacular sunsets but is ideal for breakfast in the sunny mornings.

WALLED GARDEN

A fragrant wildlife garden has been designed to attract butterflies, bees and birds, with Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Roses, pots, shrubs and trees. A gas barbeque is available for use by guests. Opposite the walled garden is an enclosed wild flower meadow with two ponds attracting dragonflies, toads and frogs. This area also has a ‘potager’ for growing fresh salads and a range of vegetables; all of which are available for our guests. At dusk, on the terrace balcony and in the gardens, you can see bats, hear owls and the summer sounds of night wildlife.
